Premiering in this edition of Mirada, the play uses as a starting point the real history of the religious Colombian women of the Santa Inés de Montepulciano convent. They lived in absolute seclusion, preserving their “pure” bodies from other people’s gaze, but, after they died, their portrait was painted by men. The paintings can be seen in Colombia, in the exhibition Opaque Bodies.
