The different modes of artistic elaboration in contemporary theater around the Latin-American colonial heritage are discussed by Pedro Kosovski, Gustavo Colombini and Nicolás Espinoza in light of their works Guanabara Canibal, Colônia and NIMBY – Nosostros somos los Buenos, which are participating in Mirada.

Gustavo Colombini is a dramatist and theater director with a degree from University of São Paulo (USP). He was part of the third class of Núcleo de Dramaturgia SESI - British Council, in São Paulo. He is author of the plays O silêncio depois da chuva, nominated for the Shell theater award in São Paulo, and Colônia, nominated for the APCA awards. He is a member and cofounder of the artistic group Cinza, alongside dramatist João Turchi. He conducted workshops and courses about dramaturgy and experimental writing in several Brazilian cities, and also in Argentina, Bolivia and Chile.

Nicolás Espinoza is a Chilean theater director. He studied theater at Universidad Católica Chile and holds a master’s degree from Bordeaux Montaigne University in France. In 2012, he founded Colectivo Zoológico with Laurène Lemaitre. His work addresses different political and social issues. He directed Conversaciones sobre el futuro (2012), Un enemigo del pueblo, by Henrik Ibsen (2014), No tenemos que sacrificarnos por los que vendrán (2015), DARK (2016) and NIMBY, nosotros somos los buenos (2017). He is currently preparing new creations with Laurène Lemaitre, alongside Colectivo Zoológico.

Pedro Kosovski is a dramatist, theater director and professor of Performing Arts at PUC-Rio. With a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, he is part of Aquela Cia. de Teatro, in Rio de Janeiro, with which he staged plays such as Outside, Cara de Cavalo, Edypop, Laio & Crísipo, Caranguejo Overdrive and Guanabara Canibal, shows that were nominated to several categories and awards, such as APTR, Cesgranrio, Questão de Crítica and Shell.
