Latin-American directors share their views on the voice of women in theater based on their work and their personal background. Peruvian Claudia Tangoa talks about her work Ñaña, inspired by a personal experience, and Mexican Coinchi León presents Mayan ancestry from the point of view of women, the subject matter of her play Del manantial del corazón. Mediated by: Dione Carlos.

Claudia Tangoa is a director, dramatist, teacher and producer, with a degree in Performing Arts from Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP). She has participated in artistic residencies such as the Directors Lab in New York (2013) and the Campus de la Bienal de Arte Joven en Buenos Aires (2017). She is part of the artistic team that accompanies the creative process of the authors in the program Sala de Parto del Teatro La Plaza.

Conchi León is an actress, dramatist and director. A member of the CONACULTA-FONCA National System of Art Creators. With degrees in journalism, theater directing and dramaturgy, she is a columnist at the Milenio Yucatán newspaper and a researcher for the Ministry of Culture and Arts of Yucatán. Founder of Compañía Municipal de Teatro de Acapulco, she is the author of more than sixty plays and conducts dramaturgy workshops focused in biodrama, and ritual and testimony theater.

Dione Carlos is an advisor of Núcleo de Dramaturgia da Escola Livre de Santo André – SP and a member of the Projeto Espetáculo, of Fábrica de Cultura da Brasilândia, as a dramatist. She studied journalism at the Methodist University of São Paulo. In 2017, she published her first dramaturgy book called Dramaturgias do Front, with three scripts: Sete, Bonita e kaim. Bonita is on the list of recommended texts for the selection process of two theater schools: SP Escola de Teatro and Escola Livre de Santo André. In 2014, her script Oriki was awarded the Prêmio Aplauso Brasil de Dramaturgia.
