Let Ponto Digital Keep You Up-To-Date

After we watch a show, we walk out of the theater with a series of impressions about the story we were just told, the performances, the screenplay, the direction... Lots of other times we also walk out with a spark that ignites our reflection on issues facing contemporary life and aspects of our own existence: family relations, political choices, failures and successes, sorrows and joys. In short, the issues surrounding our daily lives.

The stages of Santos and eight other cities in the region will be full of these kinds of challenges and opportunities to exchange experiences starting tomorrow, September 5, when the fifth edition of the Mirada Ibero-American Performing Arts Festival begins. And here at Ponto Digital, we will follow each event and performance, and find various different ways to fill you in on what is happening in every city and inside every theater.

We are a team of 18 text, photo and video editors. We will be working with performing arts critics from all over Brazil. We will bring you everything that is happening in the aisles, at the sound, light and power stations, at the meetings between the audience and the artists.

Together, we will look at the stories staged by companies from Brazil, several other Latin American countries, as well as Portugal and Spain. The productions feature some of the most pressing themes of our times, such as social and gender inequalities, human rights violations, the ghosts of dictatorships, prejudices that divide society and migratory waves, among other issues that command our attention on a daily basis.

And there’s much more going on off the stage. The Mirada will host a series of educational activities aimed at promoting reflection, complementary to the productions. We will bring you insights from artists and audience members.

We will navigate the channels of Santos, sneak into the stilt houses, the listed mansions, the historical paths that make up this beautiful city. We will go from venue to venue across the region, with our hearts and eyes open, to bring you all the different perspectives that the Mirada offers. The idea is to use these 10 days of the festival for an immersion in everything that affects us, which makes us human.

All the content we produce will be available right here on Ponto Digital.
